Valtravieso Bodegas y Viñedos origin is in Ribera del Duero. After looking inward for more than two decades we have decided to go further, discover new places, preserve vineyard plots of century-old vineyards and protect native varieties. In a commitment to explore other Denominations of Origin, we will seek wines with small productions and high added value, respecting the identity of each area and under the Valtravieso seal of quality.
D.O. Arlanza is located in the central area of the province of Burgos. The wine-growing tradition in the Ribera del Arlanza region dates back to the 7th century.

Ribera del Duero hosts vineyards located in Castilla y León, within a strip of the Duero river basin, at the confluence of the provinces of Soria, Burgos, Segovia and Valladolid. The weight of history is evident, since they have been making wine for more than 2,500 years, as evidenced by the wine residues found in the Vacceo site of Pintia and the Roman mosaic of Baños de Valdearados.

The Rueda Designation of Origin was created in 1980, although the origins of wine in the area date back to the Middle Ages. During the Golden Age, the most famous wine in the area was El Dorado, which came to be considered the court wine at the time of the Catholic Monarchs. The Verdejo grape arrives in Spain during the legacy of Alfonso VI and through the Mozarabs who came to repopulate the Duero basin.

D.O. Ribera del Júcar was born in 2003 as an initiative of a group of winemaking cooperatives and private wineries in the province of Cuenca.

D.O. Jumilla is one of the oldest D.O.’s and a benchmark for wine in the southeast of Spain. Its winemaking tradition is important; the oldest remains of Vitis vinifera in Europe have been found (3,000 B.C.).
